Woes of my own!
I've been having some issues with my tow rig. The tranny has given up. It has always had an issue. Now it is in the shop getting massaged into a new unit. I'm having it built to handle what I put it through.
My tranny guy assures me it will handle 450 hp and 900lbs of torque.
So when you get passed on the pass by a truck pulling a huge boat wave hi to me. Hope it will be with more then 1 finger.
I won't be pre-fishing on Fri. But, I will make the Capt's meeting.
See ya'll there.

The boat is already at Big Tuna. So if all else fails I will bring the Subaru and sleep in a tent. The wife won't have much fun as she won't have her TV.

Will you be going home? That's the only way you'll get past my giant arse and 1400ft/# of torque. Why stop at 900? With a new driveshaft too, you can really put the wood to it. That's your other weak link in there...I might have a story to tell on that one too.
Sorry to hear it's cooked. If you need a rig to tow home with, let me know and you can use mine Mike.

Mike, you will just have to keep fishing until your truck is finished.

Re: Woes of my own!
I gave Mike a call and let him know I will haul my camper down there for everyone to party....errr I mean sleep in. Another one of his crew could use a place to sleep instead of the boat. Being the nice guy that I am I would have been more than willing to haul his boat for him.
For now I'm just going down to hang out and meet some more folks and help out where I can. I figure for as many times as they have invited me to go fishing and I have been out of state...this time weather isn't looking great for Friday it's the least I could do. Mike will know shortly what his truck situation is.
I have a weekend kitchen pass so if someone has a seat for fishing or crabbing the bay or whatever for Friday that they are willing to share with me drop me a PM. I'm well versed in proper etiquette.

Re: Woes of my own!
Hope your tow rig is up soon, you could always have Ted drag the boat down.
I got the tuna equipment back to 100% after last weekend, new gps antenna and coax wire to the brain, window defrost fan working, rod tip repaired, new topshots, slush tank lid repaired.
What will break this weekend?

Nothing except maybe a boat record. Come on yellow tail or dodo or BET or marlin or sailfish or 5 60lb Albie's.
Or just have fun and return safely

Re: Woes of my own! ** UPDATE **
The tranny is apart on the bench. After looking it all over most of the wear in the tranny is normal. All parts with wear are being replaced.
As far as the torque converter is being disected to take a look see.
That is where the metal is coming from I'm sure.
I still believe it wil be finished on Fri.
I guess break-in will be a HOT RUN to make the capt. meeting.
Turn up the chip and launch.

Thanks for the offer but, all the parts are on the way.
As far as following me, bring your gas mask and try your luck.
That diesel will leave a little Smoke when I hammer the go pedal.
