late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
I have 2 open seats on opening day May 8. All you need is warm socks.
The fastest ride out and back from the ranch
Any takers with guts?
Oh yeah leaving the MK19 and M4s home.

Re: late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
Man I love the looks of that boat and will likely make the trip with you some day.
Folks, we see the Black Rocket out there every year and they are always in the fish. This is a great opportunity for adventure, take it.
But leave your itchy trigger finger at home...

Re: late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
Kujo- If you still have the seats I will take them both
I saw you guys at the ramp last year on the late Hali season with limits of buts. I thought to myself "Holy poo poo  ".
Is it a pretty wet ride? I don't mean to hammer you with questions. How much seas can she take safetly and I guess she is unsinkable? I have always wanted to ride in one of those but never had the opp. I have the grapes if it is safe.
You have mail

The first time I looked at this pic I didn't notice the guy sitting down in the middle of the picture.
Seems like anytime you take this many people, there's always a puker...

Re: late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
Hey Tacklebuster.....You're both in. Sharing fuel expense will work. I have all the poles and gear. But I will need both you and your buddy's height, weight and shoe size for drysuits and thermal exposure undergarment. We will be leaving the dock at 5AM; BE THERE EARLY TO GET OUTFITTED. I'm sure you'll recognize the boat. There will be two SAVs. 24' 4' SAV II and 30" SAV III. You guys will be with me on the SAV III.
Cell number 503-369-1862.
And the guy in the middle isn't puking, he has "starboard security". The Black Rocket doesn't have any holes to fill. With 230 lbs of reserve bouyancy in 9 individual sealed chambers, an inner sealed hull, and four 4" deck scuppers, if I add the "ballistic blankets", it's literally bullet proof. Sink????? no chance. Easily will handle 8 to 12 foot swells. Wind waves never a factor as everybody are in dry suits.
Took the BLACK ROCKET out of the mouth of the Little Nestucca yesterday and it was a little nasty but the Newport Bar; piece of cake.
You'll have a great time. Hopefully we don't run into other boats asking for . We usually end up assisting someone in. It may slow us down but that's what we're all out there for: each other.

Capt Kujo,
If you don't mind me asking, were (are) you military or did you buy one of their boats? Nice boat by the way, looks like a blast.

Re: late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
Capt- Sweet
I am five foot eleven and weigh 190 pounds. Shoe size is 9 1/2 or 10. 10 is probably the best. My buddies size is five foot eight and 165 pounds. He wears about a size 9 shoe. We don't need any gloves, long johns, boots, or hats?
We will be at the Tackle shop by the ramp about 4:15 or so, will that be plenty of time or do we need to be a little earlier? Should we bring a heavy lunch or will we be back early afternoon? We are looking forward to this adventure. Thanks a million for the invite.

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helv">Chris,
Dude, all you'll need are warm socks and a light lunch and something to drink of course. We're usually back on the dock before 11AM but, this of course is impossible to predict.
We will supply thermal exposure undergarmets, dry suit, fleece hood, and have neoprene gloves available. I will supply you and your buddy with a free USIA Military Defense Division baseball cap (your to keep) what color would you like black, OD Green, and Desert? Just don't forget the WARM Socks. If you would, you may contribute a pack of purple label herring.
oh yeah get ready fir a great time!!!!

Re: late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
Hi. I'm a new member as of this evening. I've been on the ocean a few times but this adventure was one I am sorry I missed. Or...should I be on the docks in case someone else bags out? At any rate, I promise I won't cry (no time to I'm sure) Lunch: I'm sure!!! I wouldn't want to lose it so give a girl a chance to get her feet wet again. I'd rather stand than sit which seems to be the position on the "Blur" and I'll leave the dog at home. If not, how about next time?

Re: late cancels ;2 seats on the BLACK ROCKET
Hi Chris,
I'm Lyn (1st mate on the BLACK ROCKET) I have your sizing for your therms and dry suit. Don't forget those warm socks. a lunch and did CAPT KUJO say sun block or sunglasses? If not it won't hurt to have it. 4:15 will be plenty early, The ROCKET will be moored at South Beach Weds evening. Bring sea sick meds if necessary.
I'll bring my Night Vision Goggles (NGVs), in case its dark when we leave. Both SAVs have IR strobes so we can tract each other in the dark, but you need the goggle to pick out the other SAVs. Call the Captain  if you think of anything else. There will be You and your buddy, and Army SF guy from Ft. Lewis, a friend from PDX, the CAPTAIN and me . Let the party begin
Welcome to the Combat Fishing Team!

I know you need my number. Pilar will have it.
p.s. some purple herring and gas can do. I'll bring fast compact lunch fuel for all of us to eat. This is too cool!

This is too sweet. I am ex military as well. Army infantry serving most of my time in a scout platoon or LRSD. Those toys are right up my alley. I can't wait to get my combat fishing wings
Kujo- Sorry I missed your call bro, I'll get a hold of you in the morning. Let me know how much fuel you usually burn and how much herring you need to get. We will gladly cover those expenses

Hey Capt. Kujo,
What's a boat like that cost? (without the guns, of course). Fuel capacity? Top speed on calm water?

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Hold on to your hats. 30' with twin 225hp and all the electronics ball park $125K. Top speed of the low tactical version 50kt. The "H" series top speed 57kt. It may seam like alot but believe me you get what you pay for! And with a SAV you only pay once!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">As for fuel...the SAV has twin 225hp OPTIMAXs. They are so fuel efficent you won't believe it. I have a fast rule "ALWAYS TAKE ALL THE FUEL". So I always fill it up (200 gals). The engine computers tell me, to the gallon, how much fuel is used. They get zeroed at the dock for consumption and mailage, so when we return from our trip, we will all know exaclty what the fuel consumption is. Also keep in mind these engines do not burn standard 2 cycle outboard oil. They burn a "DFI/OPTIMAX" blend. It's about $15.00 a gallon. At 35 mph, the average consumption rate is about 18 to 20 gals an hour. The nicer the day, the faster we can go. But judging the forcast today for Thursday, it appears not every boat will be going out (nor should they)!!! The only thing that can stop us is a Coast Guard Cutter sitting "ON THE BAR" telling us "THE BAR IS CLOSED" Since we are an uninspected commercial vessel, they can do that.

Fished with these guys on the Megong back in 67. Nasty group but they always managed to get the best holes.
