Default Thunder and Lightning

Did anyone go out today? I watched the light show and rain this morning about 3:30. The thunder was impressive too.

After it passed through I had a bad feeling about it but went anyway. Got to Silver and was fishing by 5:30. Fished hard all morning and managed to come up with 3 dinks. I talked to several others and they didn't have any or maybe 1. I would sure like to have been fishing in the moonlight last night ahead of that front instead of on the tail end. It sure shut them down.

On the plus side, I did see some kids tearing up the crappie off the end of a dock. I'm sure there was a brushpile out there. Note to self on which dock for later on.

A little thunder and lightning doesn't seem to have too much effect from what I've seen. I had a decent day on the Willamette this morning and an excellent evening on the Columbia. Maybe Silver warmed up a bit too much.

I don't know about SM because I haven't been fishing them long enough to know, but are they affected by fronts as much as LM?

Don't know. We whaled on em good Friday. That thunder storm had just passed through the Castle Rock area maybe 1/2 hour before we got there. You could feel the cooler air and the wind kicked up for a little while then died. Maybe the evening would have been better. That's a small shallow lake so I would guess fronts have an immediate effect on them. I have always had better luck with LM just before a front rolls in.

Try being 45 miles out Tuna fishing yesterday in it! The fish liked the thunder and lightning because the fishing turned on as it rolled thru!
