Default ruckus raisers on the downrigger?

OK, limited budget so where is my bang for the buck? I have 2 spreaders but am thinking of going with ruckus raisers instead of more spreaders. The upside being using them instead of spiders on the downriggers. Do ruckus raisers work just the same off the downriggers as spiders? Any opinions on the most $ efficient way of multitasking spreads?

I run one in my spread on top. It breaks up the water a little better than the spreaders but not that much more. I ran it next to a spreader down the middle two weeks ago but they each only scored one fish. The cedar plug on a daisy chain continues to be my top producer. Haven't tried it off the downrigger. It hasn't been convincing enough to be a go to rig yet.

Basically a dredge from Fred Archer. They are marketed as something you drag on the surface like a spreader but look just like a dredge. Hence my question since I don't have the funds/ space to buy a whole catalog of items.

For what its worth my 2 cents. Keep it simple! Save your money! Learn to run your spread effectivley to simulate bait and add a couple dive boards to bring fish to the top. 4 to 6 rods and or handlines and a couple boards will do the job.
You will eliminate tangles and will catch as many fish as everyone else, possibly more.
Add some plastic and some iron for late season and you will have all you need.
Respectfully,
FT

PoiToy,
What we do is about 35 to 40 feet of Tuna cord to the board then about the same 200# mono back to a big snap swivel or twist connection swivel. Your clone or other bait is attached from there.
I don't know what others do but I do know we catch lots of fish on our boards and it was not always that way.
