Default last two weeks of archery elk...bust or yes

Well ? I can only hunt the unit I drew the last 2 + weeks of the season. Hunting partner and I have got too many things going on to do the whole month. Can not do the first two weeks, got to be the last two. NE Limited entry in one of the big three. What do you think...going to be good? or will that moon screw with us?
Spike hunters going to be a real problem? spike hunters never go more than the mile off the road thing going to be the thing?
Unit is Mount Emily and I AM TOTALLY STOKED!!!...So lets hear any past experiences of this unit...got my spots and then some but please PM if you have some that you feel I should check out, after all this IS a once in a life time hunt for me since I am going to be too old to ever draw again.
This will be my very first bull elk, WOW!!! I really don't care if it is a rag horn but would love to get a 300 inch, just dreaming.
A very big Thank you to the person that has helped me this year...you know who you are.
Just wishing elk season would get here faster, family is going totally nuts!

You should definitely go! The biggest, baddest bulls I've ever seen have always been during the last weekend so far, although not in your unit. They seem to get progressively more talkative as the rut progresses in my experience and come into calls much easier. The end of the season is right in the peak of the rut too. Go hunt and have a blast!

Absolutely.... last two weeks is hot and heavy! Just go easy on the bugle... in my experience, during this part of the season most bulls would rather take their cows and head for the hills than use up valuable energy contending with a competitor. Practice sounding like a sexy cow .

Definitely go. Lots of bulls in that unit...some real toads. No doubt about it.

At least you're not lacking confidence. Just remember, there's no guarantees with archery elk. Just get ready for a great HUNT.

I always take the last week of the season and hunt. Seems to be when we have had the most success.

The middle to last weeks of any season seem to always be the best. Everyone is in such a hurry to get out and hunt the first week that's open... I'll bet the pressure will be minimal when your there.........

It is harder to get herd bulls then but young bulls and satatlites are very loney and looking for that single gal Have fun!! There is pros and cons but any day of hunting beats a day of working and maybe you will get some cooler weather by then...

Naw, I wouldn't bother. Is there any way you can sign that tag over to me for proper disposal?
