I had some rubberized boating in a can that I was thinking of spaying on the inside of my doghouse. Was hoping it might help with the noise a bit and protect the metal. I could at a later date install some insulation if I want to further reduce the noise. Good or bad idea? Thanks...
PM HiTekRdNek and ask him what he used on the inside of his dog house, it was some sort of sheet insulation - really made a difference in the noise coming from the engine

there are sound deadeners and sound dampeners. I used a deadener (dynamat) with little success. A boat building buddy of mine uses dampeners on all his boats. creates the barrier needed. I didn't have the room and had some excess dyanamat from vehicle projects laying around so I tried it. again,... it did quiet it down but not near enough. just my experience and i'm no expert

I used heating duct insulation (with the foil backing). Glued it in. Works great - all I hear is the exaust coming out the transom. Also kept the engine cover much cooler on the outside.
