I am planning on fishing out of Newport for Halibut, on all six days in May (weather permiting). I have four seats filled for each day (sorry) and that is all I can fish with comfort and safety. However, I am putting togeather an alternates list. If you are interested in being a stand-by for any of the days (May 8-9-10 and May 15-16-17) send me an e-mail and let me know what days you can fish and how to get ahold of you. My boat is on the smaller side, 20' Hewescraft Searunner, but is quite capable. I have great crew for each day but s*** happens and I would hate to have a seat without a rod. The season is short and I would like to see everyone get to go. I think I am going to moor at South Beach for three days a week. I wish I had the boat to take more folks but this is a sincere offer for covering any cancelations. My way of paying it forward, so to speak.

WP, This is a great idea, Maybe we could just use this central list for alternates and anyone with a cancellation can check here for short notice crew?
I have three on my list so far and would like to see them all get a spot. They are:
Kruechief, Loren
Hummingbird, Tom
Hoggemin, ??

I think Capin' Dan! and his dad are looking for a couple of seats for week 2.

I'll be checking this list if I have a cancellation. Anyone on the dock (practicly) is welcome in the event of a no show as it will be too late to call and wait. I don't anticipate that happening with the crew I have booked but you never know....

Good Idea, lets keep this list as a reference if we get an opening. Please leave or send contact information as most cancelations occur close to fishin' time!
