We (finally!) completed our first RV rental trip this past weekend. Everything went fine with the RV and the gas mileage was suprisingly not that bad (9 MPG).
We stayed at East Lake Resort's RV Park. I fished at least a couple hours every day at various times, and ended up jigging 90% of the time because an older 15hp Merc that needs a tune up just flat will not troll slowly at 6300'. I did fashion a sail out of the bimini top and 'trolled' back to the resort Saturday evening...man, was that nice and peaceful!?
All totaled, I scattered 6 kokes and countless hit'n'runs over Thurs, Fri, and Sat. When you've only got 6 factual data points to work with, it's hard to say what worked best. Yet, it seemed the flaming orange Braid minnow product was the most productive. The fish seemed kinda skinny, by current Merwin standards anyway. They tasted every bit as good though!
Didn't much bother trying for browns, given the kicker woes...darn it!
I didn't get many good pics; fortunately my first mate snapped this one Friday evening (yours truly with Jr., aka 'Mr. CanIbonkHimYet'):
Next year?....Paulina or bust!
