Question for CG Ken- Drogues
Ken - I mentioned Drogues on a post and got a question about them. I have no experiance and a limited understanding of their use. Can you give us your 2 sense (pun intended)!

My understanding is:
Drogues will keep the boat from broaching (or at least help) in an ugly following sea. You can keep some power on and still go slow without the stern getting pulled around (or surfing down the face) and ending up sideways. They add stability and let the seas roll under the boat without tossing it around. Wouldn't want to have them out in traffic but if it's that ugly you probably won't have much company!
They gotta be real drogues though, not just drift socks and they are not cheap! Also not something you plan on ever using. Just one step from a lifesuit or EPIRB.
