Default Re: Upgrading motor

Moderate performance gain and a lot of weight difference. Do you need the speed difference? I know that for the ocean, my speed averages about 24 knots...anything faster (on most days) and I am pounding the passengers to a pulp. Aluminum boats (sleds in particular) pound in an uneven sea. I like my 130 but if I had a 90, I probably would not opt to change it. Nice motors and adequate power...I don't HAVE to have the adrenilin rush!

Default Upgrading motor

Thinking about upgrading the motor on my 1995 19' Alumaweld Formula Vee. Currently have a Honda 90 and spend most of time in bay and river and on nice days in the ocean out of Winchester Bay. Thinking about putting a Honda 130 on the boat. Salemans says the boat can handle it fine and won't lower transom much. Any advice.
