Default Rock Pile report...........

Well... I am back. We fished high and low, and first we went inside the north end, and then we picked up and ran to the south end trolled the length of the pile.

The water on the beach is clear, but when you get half way out you go through a rip and it is crystal clear tuna looking water. I could see the cannon balls so deep they looked like BB's.

We never marked any bait, but those hungry little lings are still there. We came back inside and caught our lings (barely legal) and bass. Then we got 8 crabs from the 3 pots.

I was at Englund this afternoon and Dean said all the boats were heading south and there was some good catches at the Fingers which is just North of Hecta Banks.

Maybe in a couple weeks those fish down south will move north.

There was a big lazy swell off shore and when I got home I see the bouy report said it was 8.5 ft.
Which is about right.

Cheers

Sounds like you had some good conditions out there, those big lazy swells allways remind me of an amusement park ride, the way your stomach drops as you coast down each one.

How were the inshore reefs? Is that where you picked up your bass?

It cant get any better than fresh ling and some fresh dungie!

Good Job!

We were only about 1.5 miles south of the whistler bouy. There is a shallow reef there you cant miss. Just fish the inside edge, and take lots of bait. I am sure in was good everywhere though.

Wak,

Thanks for the report.

There is nothing like fresh caught lingcod and crab for fine eats.

Peace, Tom

Damn, I was hoping you'd post how you limited the boat in less than an hour! :depressed:

Now I'm wondering if it's worth the extra drive to go fish in Tailchaser's territory for the hali opener? Hmmmmmmm.
