Default Newbie Checking in: Port Orford Access

I was in Gold Beach (springer fishing on the Rogue of course) and picked up a local paper that had a story about the Port Orford Harbor. Apparently, the Army Corps of Engineers will not be dredging the harbor (as planned) this summer.

I am assuming it will be tough for the larger commercial vessels to move in and out, especially on low tide. Does anyone know how this will impact sport boat access? Nofish

I just talked with the Port of Port Orford folks (541-332-7121). Funding was approved last week for the USACE to dredge this summer. Apparently they also have two other methods of dredging they currently use. The launch facilities are currently operational and will continue to be.
