Went ahead and hit the coast yesterday with my buddy WRO in anticipation of a great day and boy did I get a let down. First off I was amazed at how many people were fishing for nates, It reminded me of Dec. Just rowed thru the first bit of water since there was a boat in almost every run and tailout, boy was that discouraging.
Oh well, didn't start fishing until we were about half way thru are drift and soaking wet to top things off.
After drowning sand shrimp all day and only a cuttie to show for it, then getting a clinic on how not to handle a nate after you hook it on diver and shrimp, net it, hold it around the gill region while unhooking, then lift into boat for pic but then drop it into the bottom of the boat only to finally get ahold of the slimy thing and throw it overboard. WOO, what a clinic it was.
Heres what Ryan managed to bring in, it had a little color, but fought like a champ  . (it was released immediately after pic)
I worked hard for these dandies, but it just goes to show that a litte persistance and luck can sometime save a day for yuh

.

Believe it or not we still had a little spunk left in us even after tying into those brutes so we stopped off at a zipperlip of ours

only to find 2 rigs at the head of the trail

.
After hiking to our special spot I managed to save the day by hooking into this little fella. He fought like a champ. Someone needed to let this guy know how big he really was, he thought he was double his size by how he fought.

Perfect way to end a crummy day of fishing, for us at least. Let me tell you that fish made the ride home a lot better.
