Newport Crabbing

I put my new boat motor on the drift boat, threw in the crab rings, and headed over to Newport for a little crabbing today. We got there about 1:00 p.m. and got 8 keepers in the first hour, then the tide turned and no more keepers. We were hoping to get some fishing in but the weather was a little snotty so we called it good enough.

We hit T-bay today, lots of rain, a little wind and fair crabbing. We ended up with 12. Some other crabbers were doing better some worse.

I was lucky enough to drag my wife over to the North Jetty and give a few casts for some Lings, only released one undersized before the wind, rain and the waves forced me back to business (crabbing).
