Joe,
That was the Kadaho, a fifty foot Delta that is very W-I-D-E. There
were several of the charter boats out of Depoe Bay Saturday morning
and they were catching lots of blacks and a few lings just North of
port. I heard Kadaho say that he wasn't going to need any fish filleters
when he got back from his trip to PC. I suspect that the current was running
way too strong up there for them to get their baits down to the fish.
I left port Saturday morning thinking that I might get a little Chinook
fishing in, but only made it out to about 3/4 of a mile past the second
bouy before calling it a day. I could tell that it wasn't gonna be a lot
of fun out there!! Half hour after I got back in, the rain started and didn't
let up for the next six and a half hours! I guess that mainenance stuff is
just going to have to wait until NEXT weekend!
I went up on "Chicken Point" to watch the boats go out after I had
come back in and saw the deck hand on Enterprise (a 54' delta) nearly
get washed off the back deck! *THAT* was pretty scary!! Carl, the
deckhand off the Tackle Buster had gone out (and back in) with me
Saturday and looked at me and said "we actually went OUT in that?".
The expresion on his face was classic!
