Default Question for the Garibaldi crowd

I fish depoe and newport more often than tillamook for tuna and most of the time the small public cleaning station in garibaldi is overflowing with people and fish.

I am wondering what the rest of you guys do about fish cleaning and carcass disposal on busy days. I do not want to bring them home and clean them there if I have other options, as disposing of 5 to 10 tuna carks is a hassle.

Is there another spot that I can clean the tuna and dispose of the carcasses near there? I would be willing to pay for the use of good facilities but dont know my options.

Any help is appreciated.

Luke

We didn't have any issue on Saturday - all the crowds were over at Big Tuna watching Barta eat his sushi right off the fish. It's not a big station, but so far we are 3 for 3 on avoiding the crowds. Maybe that's because they all limit out way before us.

Luke,
Ya dude its a tough deal there for sure if its crowded...I have carked on my cooler outside the cleaning station before, then put my fish in trash bags by the dumpster there. I will be bringing bags again and two coolers, one for sitting one to use as a table if I have to. Fill a gallon jug to rinse the surface once in a while and call it good......not the best but it worked.
You running this weekend out of Garabaldi?

There is another cleaning station at the Barview Jetty campground. Just drive out there and go past the check in station without stopping, stay to the left then the cleaning station is under 50 yards away. Hope that helps.

Garibaldi Fish Cleaning Station was close, last time I wanted to use it. Heard the grinder was broken for a while.

I keep a pc. of uhmw under the mat of the truck bed for emer situations. You can put it on your tailgate or cooler and run it inside to the fish house to rinse once in a while. If all else fails, they clean better in the morning and I don't think anybody minds if the carcs go into the river if your close. This also gives you more time to cut up the carks into crab/halibut bait.

Sometimes it seems as though the neighbors don't like us. Not sure why, Whats a little red water runnin down the hill?

I've gained more enemies and made more friends fishing for tuna, than any other fish.

Pay "The Blad" to clean them for you.
