*Charleston OTC Updates*
A couple of things I wanted to pass along prior to the captains meeting:
1. Ice will be available friday afternoon and everyone is encouraged to get it prior to saturday morning if possible to avoid a congestion at the ramp. There will be ice available at the ramp for those who cannot get it friday. We also will have access to the shaved ice pile for individuals coming in at odd times if absolutely needed.
2. The casino will have a live band for after hours events from the dinner. They are actually a very good band and should be a lot of fun for everyone involved.
3. There will be a large contingent of boats fishing thurs/friday and I will give out some numbers for boats at the captains meetings when I get them to narrow down some searching.
4. We will have our own dock available for tournament fishermen to offload fish and launch.

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
Right now we're sitting between 55-60 boats fishing. 70 are signed up total but realistically we're in that range.

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
TC is on the water doing some scouting with a flock of boats this morning. As of now this is the plan for Provided ice. Artic Ice has donated its pile of shaved ice if we can get it there. The pile is a cone about 12 feet diameter at the base and 10-12 feet tall. Currently we have an excavation business that has donated a loader and we have a dump trailer to haul it with. So about 4:30 friday afternoon we will start loading the trailer and hope to have the ice moved by the end of the captains meeting. We are planning to dump it at the Ramp in Charleston. The fish plant in Charleston has donated a few totes of ice as well and we will have those there as well.

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
TC- I heard there might be a problem with the live bait situation. Do you have any more info on this subject? Our crew just wanted to know if it was going to be available. Also, thanks for all your hard work putting this together.

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
Slobes- TC will be off the water early today. He is on the horn offshore trying to gather as much vector info as possible. He will post early this afternoon I'm sure. Englunds is a good place to gather intel as is the Basin Tackle shop(The owner is a commercial), if you are down here the ramp after about 2 will be the best source to gather numbers for a friday run.
H H - The last I heard the pieces were in place for the live bait. However the only stuff that has been available is large herring. I dont know if they will haul those down here or not. FYI the bait shop/dock on the finger wharf in Winchester Bay has Individually Frozen Dead baits. they come in forty pound blocks. The IFD baits have proven to work great for chumming, and to raise the fish to the back of the boat. If a guy wants them you should stop on the way south, or its just 20 min North of C-Bay.

Can the signed waivers be turned in at the captain's meeting?

You'll get a report Slobes but you should be more worried about Jim catching all the fish and leaving none for the tournament. Jim has more blood go through his boat than St. Vincents hospital!

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
My husband and i thought we could register for this 24 hours ahead of time so today i went to register and it says its closed! He is out of town on a tuna trip and wont be back till tomorrow for the captains meeting that we were intending to go to. Any suggestions on how to get ahold of someone to see if they will take a late entry?

I forgot to get an extra banquet ticket for my girlfriend. Any way I can get one? It will make for better captian moral if she can go.

My team will be out scouting tomorrow. Let me know what channel everyone will be on, and I'll let you know what we find

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
Wow, go away to play one day and look what happens. I'll try to answer them all, but if I miss something don't be shy.
1. Live Bait - Deeman is 100% correct. It seems the only port around that doesn't have bait is the Umpqua, just happens to be the only place that is capable of keeping penned live bait that would donate it to the tournament. They have purple size herring in small numbers and didn't want to play the donation game with only a couple hundred fish. However, that can change quickly. If some come in, we'll get it. Another note, Charleston is plugged FULL of bait. I personally am going to get bait either late friday or really early saturday morning by jigging. It's absolutely everywhere.
2. Yes, waivers can be given no later than at the captains meeting for fishing.
3. Yes, meal tickets will be available. Hopefully at the Captains meeting, but at latest at the dinner itself.
4. Finally did someone say fishing????? We caught fish today from 32-38 miles out. No secrets just dead west. The fished moved a bit from the 125 last weekend to the 125.05 this weekend and hopefully back in by saturday. The water color is great the entire way but temps don't come up until the 124.55 line. We landed 14 in the minimal time we had to fish and lost several more.
If I missed something, I'll look back at it a little later.

Re: *Charleston OTC Updates*
Sorry, registrations closed Sunday night midnight on the 3rd. As is with the rest of the tournaments, it will close the sunday prior to the event for planning on dinners, ect......I wish there was a different way because I had up to 10 teams want to jump in Monday morning but the rules are set so that's how it is.
