Smile Newport long fins on Saturday anyone?

It looks like the weather is going to work with us this weekend for a Tuna run out of Newport. I know the OTC is running down south but I can't make it. Does anyone want a running partner for Saturday out of Newport? The other question I have is "how far out are the Tuna"? Any input would be welcome.

Thumbs up Re: Newport long fins on Saturday anyone?

Great! Sounds good. We'll be running a 26' striper with two or three on board. We trailer over from the salem area but will be ready for a run at the first hint of light. Can't wait to see how you guys do this week. I wish you good luck and smooth seas. BIG BIG TUNA

I just arrived in Newport. My fishing partner Jacob got into a handful today about 43 NM from port. It sounded like Fish Tales and Reel Crazy got into them first and boated decent numbers. Ill try to post some numbers in a bit.

Looking forward to seeing some numbers! If it looks like that distance will get it done on saturday, It'll probably be a go.

We'll be running Saturday morning, hope to leave the dock at 5:00 or 5:30, also headed south and west. Will be on 16 and monitoring CH 78. We run in the Carolina Classic, "BOTTOM LINE" May see you out there.

Some freinds of mine were out at 44.20 125.01 to 125.08 today. Nice water. Boated 13 or so (memory is failing me) and had another 10 or so come loose. I'll be headed there in the morning. See if I can get some long fins then stop for flatties at the Ranch. Probably be out there Saturday too.
