Todays SST @ 3:10AM Tillamook; Running Thurs/Fri??
Hmmm, water isn't looking very warm, mostly 57 -58 until N 45.50, W125.10 then you hit 60 degrees. ( a mere 52nm)
Unles you want to swing south and try the 58.9 water 45.20, 124.42 (34 nm)...
I'm looking at runs Thursday and Friday...maybe ...but I won't be running 50+NM

without a chloro shot to go with it, it doesnt mean much I like those night SST shots, so you dont get the false readings with all the afternoon sun warming.
The good news is the SST shot shows no cloud cover so we have a good chance at getting a Chloro shot soon.

rip charts shows 60+ water off CR at about 124 54, and off Tillamook at about 125 towards the 46 line. No chlorophyll shot yet

The lack of a recent chloro shot makes it hard to decide whether to go north or south. Hope we get one soon. Altho, we may get a report from Andy Coho, who was supposed to go out of Garibaldi today.

Here is one from Coast Watch, but it is from August 2nd and I don't why it provides more detail than what was on Terrafin, so caution:
Someone deleted the map I put on earlier, so I hope this stays and is of some use to people. This is not from Terrafin, it is from NOAA, so it is public info.

Been there today....done that....and found Dirty Green Water, Birds, Shrimp boat and no fish.
Fished to 124 46 & (45 40) to (45 50). 57-degree water.
61.5 Gallons today.
Found that finger of 58.5 degree water and fished it until that finger dissipated.

Andy: I am a little confused by your post. You first quoted a guy who was talking about going south to 45 20. Then, you said you did that, but gave numbers that were more northerly 45 40 to 45 50. Did you also fish south and then go north? If you went south, what numbers did you fish there? it seems like maybe you went out to the 124 46 line and then went 45 40 to 45 50. Did you fish elsewhere? Thanks.

The conditions continued to degrade as we approached the 125 line, so yes I ventured further west, but: Did not fish, did not pay attention to where I turned around due to poor conditions and tunnel vision on Gallons Used and Water Temp, but approximately 124 50 (ish)?

No I did not go that far south. I fished between 45 40 and 45 50.
I simply ment that I was one of the few that was pursuing Albacore out of Garibaldi today.
I was just being funny (or attempting to be), using a catch phrase that is out of date. What #'s I posted is as accurate as any human can be but should not be used for Navigation Purposes. I simply posted #'s to where I fished and ventured when I was paying attention to my location. I did not mean to say that I had 1st hand knowledge of that exact location, though it is my opinion that there would be little difference in Cloro. from 45 20 to 45 40 since all I saw was the exact same colored water, get nothing but dirtier the farther west I traveled. But this is just my opinion. I have been wrong before, as I obviosly was in my "so 90's" catch phrase application. Bad Andy, Bad Andy!

Thanks, Andy, I was not giving you a hard time, only trying to get more info from you since gas is so expensive these days. I appreciate the response.

Re: Todays SST @ 3:10AM Tillamook; Running Thurs/Fri??
I rustled up a good crew. Taking two professional salmon guides with me. Hopefully I will put them into fish, and they will remember that come fall when I am begging for some hot tips.
I plan to head out around 6am. Not entirely sure for what spot, but will do some research on that tomorrow.
see you all then!
