The best place to head to Heceta is from Winchester Bay. Florence's jetties have been more or less ruined by trying to extend it about 10 or so years ago. A bunch of the monster rocks washed into the channel and they can't get them out or dredge it so it shallowed up a lot. Transversally, making it rougher to get out of. It is a good place to fish however and fairly untouched in general because of that.

Default Heceta Banks

Any of you people ever fish for halibut out of Florence and head to Heceta Banks? My brother and I used to longline for halibut there years ago and knocked 'em dead. Lots o' kings there too. Don't think it's as deep as Halibut Hill either.
