Default Home from the Al-Can

It was an incredible trip spent more that I intended... (big surprise) Learned a lot on this trip. if and when I do it again I'll either tow a trailer or take a camper or motor home instead of staying in over priced motels. Also 3 weeks is not enough time take a month or a month and a half or even more if you can afford to be away from your home for that long. I had 2 weeks and flew home but my dad & cousin Rick had 3 weeks so basically they dropped me off at the Anchorage airport and they loaded up and they headed home it took them 4 1/2 days to get back. We took 7 days on the way up of course we stopped and looked around a lot more on the way up as opposed to when they were on their way home.
It was truly a trip I will remember forever and I would not change a thing
By the way we only got 1 cut tire right outside of Tok made it to the Chevron and they fixed it for us for only $22.50 just another expense that we never counted on ... Where is a Les Schawb when ya need one..lol. The windshield made it there and back although there was one rock that hit us that I thought for sure was the end of my windshield. We saw a lot of wildlife and the views were amazing.

I think the Dawg would do fine in Portland and or anywhere along the coast. Although I think the firemarshal would haved a fit with as many people are crammed in there. I tripped and fell and didn't hit the ground...lol

Did you get a chance to eat at fast eddies in Tok?

BTW, when we went up in May, none the the hotels were open so we just slept in the truck. It was cheap but I was very glad to get to Valdez and have a bed and a shower.
