Default Help with my Ratheon L755 chart-plotter.

OK wise guys ... somebody HAS to know the answer to this ...

I have a Ratheon L755 depth finder/GPS chart plotter. Before I
installed the new HSB2 I used to be able to window in to 1/32 mile
while sitting in port. When I was out to sea, I could see all the mapping
stuff. Now, since I installed HSB2, I can only window in to 1/2 mile
while sitting in port and when I'm off-shore any distance at all
(10+ miles) I lose my maps. The plotter still works, but I can't
see depths and what-have you on the chart ... all I get is a "grid".

The guy at the boat show told me to turn off the "tracking" option
and I should be able to get everything back to normal. No such
luck! I did that this past weekend and could still only zoom in to
1/2 mile before I lost the map stuff. The manual has been *less*
than useful!!

Any suggestions (besides bying a Furuno)??

Thanks,
-assAssin-

Ya know, a boat buck here (isolation transformor) and a boat
buck there (out-drive and other maintainence) and a few boat
bucks over there (the bottom paint fiasco) and it starts adding
up to some * real * money!! KnowWhatIMean?

FA- call Rogers Marine and talk to Marty. I had the same issue but it was the "tracking thing". Call him (or someone else there) from the boat while your at the unit. They should have a display unit and can walk you through what it should do step by step. They're big on Raytheon and know it real well.
PS- tell them next time you'll buy ALL you stuff there so they can help you learn to use it!! If that doesn't work drop my name, I've spent enough there on my last two boats to have a private tutor from them!
PSS-I've got the L760, but it's not HSB2. I think it's just a sofeware upgrade but not sure what it buys me. I'll let you work the bugs out then maybe I'll talk to them about upgrading!

FA... When I first got my Raymarine chartplotter, I was confused about the operation instrustions provided by the manual.

I called their tech support folks several times and got very useful, realtime advice. They knew their stuff. Just a suggestion.
