Default Coos Bay/Charleston Chinooks

We all know what a disappointing year it is for chinook, but it seems like the southern coast, especially the Gold Beach area, are seeing fair returns starting. Reading that the chinook by-catch is dismal for those targeting coho out of Winchester Bay, I'm curious as to what the salmon fishermen are finding out of Charleston. Anyone fishing out of there finding any numbers of chinook hitting their coho rigging the past couple of weeks?

I have heard of a few getting caught some of some decent size. Also I had a report of a few fish up above the forks in the river.

Thanks, Deeman. That's one of the most encouraging posts I've read in awhile. Trying to decide if I should venture to the Umpqua or Coos...if either...next month. It's a 7 hour trip for me, but I didn't chase springers, so need my fix this fall!
