3/15 TA MEETING CANCELLED!!!

OK everyone. The planning committe has just decided to pull the plug on the formal event. So the parking lot / camper / BBQ gathering is CANCELLED. Formal event to be re-scheduled later.

BACKUP PLAN FOR SATURDAY: Some of us are keeping our hotel / overnight plans. Marty & I (& probably a few others) will be at the Rogue Brewery on the restaurant side (hang a right atop the stairs) from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday for beer & chat. We'll then order dinner ~ 6. So if anyone would like to join us please do. We are saving the photo & name-game contests, gear demonstrations, etc. for the next time. Also, Popeye (Bruce) will be on his boat (Julie Rose III) making sure it doesn't break free from the dock. He says "drop on in" if you're around.

REQUEST: Although I'll send out a cancellation e-mail to many folks, we want to make sure everyone gets this message especially those travelling from afar & staying overnight. Please make phone calls to those you know, informing them of this cancellation.

Corridor--must be a wife thing, as I am going to pick my wife up in Albany dog show with our daughter and grandson, and then come over to Newport. We both like the coast when it is really nice, and when it really isn't.

Rod and Jen and anyone else nuts enough to go anyway...us too! If nothing else, we enjoy watching the magnificence of the ocean when she is angry...from a safe distance! See you all there! Rod, if you bring our "stuff", we can at least get that much off your hands.

I just got off the phone with the lady running the Southbeach RV lot. She said normally you have to cancel within 72 hours or she will still bill you. I explained to her that we were still planning on putting this together in the near future, so she decided not to charge us this time. She said she hopes the people contact her as soon as possible. So if anyone has reservations, please contact her today. Thanks for all the effort anyway. :depressed: :depressed:

Well, the wife said "Get me out of the house!" so I guess we're still coming. This means I'll still be able to deliver Salty Dog apparel to anyone that is down there. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the burgees are going to make it in time. I'll also setup another apparel/burgee update thread but wanted to post it here also.

Diana and I were all set with our rain gear and sushi rolls and looking forward to meeting a few of you die hards and it looks like you're coming anyway. GREAT! So the Rogue is going to have a little business anyway and we will be joing you all.

Well the wife and I will still be there so hopefully corrid will remember my lovely sweatshirt?? I've been in portland all week and didn't see the post until today, so it costs me to cancel the reservation or go and get out of the house. Oh well, we'll kill a few brews instead of crabs I guess. cheers!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I'm officially peeved. My wife and I took off this morning for Newport for the get together and to meet a lot of people who were getting together regardless only to find out that the friggn highway is closed by a landslide from earlier in the week!!!

This sucks! The only way around it was to travel back to eugene, to corvallis and over that way. Sorry guys after the trip back from Portland yesterday I wasn't going to back track that much. I guess I've been out of the loop since I was up there. [img]graemlins/dork.gif[/img] Anyhow, I was looking forward to meeting everyone, maybe next time.

Bummer....It was fun , I just got home from the Rogue and it was good to see everyone......I got stuck on the highway last week but I went up the North fork and back down big creek, it adds about 45 minutes but it is better than all the way around.

I ran over a deer though and now I have truck expences....I guess it is always something.
