Right now I'm planning on going both Friday and Saturday, but I have to say the forecast keeps deteriorating fast:

FRI
S WIND 10 TO 15 KT WITH GUSTS TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 3 FT. SW
SWELL 6 FT. CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE MORNING...THEN SLIGHT CHANCE OF
SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON.

SAT
NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 3 FT. SW SWELL 6 FT.

Several other boats are also planning trips - so you should have company.

I stand corrected - The 9A forecast got better (although Sunday looks to be a bit sporty):

FRI
S WIND 10 TO 15 KT WITH GUSTS TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT.
S SWELL 6 FT. CHANCE OF RAIN AND DRIZZLE IN THE MORNING...THEN
SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON.

FRI NIGHT
W WIND 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 1 FOOT. S SWELL
5 FT.

SAT
NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT. SW SWELL 5 FT.

SUN
NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT WITH GUSTS TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES
4 FT. NW SWELL 5 FT.

I am planning on going but it is all weather dependent. We are planning on targeting halibut mostly but if the fish come quickly we will head out for tuna since it is only another 15-20 miles to were most of the folks were catching them last weekend, but that can always change. With the south wind it may blow a little more warm water in closer. I think we are planning on going out after the bar layes down maybe 7:30 or so...

COLUMBIA RIVER BAR-
835 AM PDT WED JUL 30 2008

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ROUGH COLUMBIA RIVER BAR IN EFFECT
FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

IN THE MAIN CHANNEL
COMBINED SEAS 7 FT TODAY...SUBSIDING TO 6 FT
THIS EVENING AND TO 5 FT BY TUE MORNING. HOWEVER...SEAS WILL
TEMPORARILY BUILD TO 8 FT DURING THE WEAK EBB CURRENT AROUND 4 PM
THIS AFTERNOON...AND TO 9 TO 10 FEET WITH BREAKERS DURING THE
VERY STRONG EBB CURRENT AROUND 415 AM EARLY TUE MORNING.

Sporty in Deans opinion is breakfast for the Cool Cat. Eyeball will be applied prior to any attempt.

I was thinking of running out of the CR for butts/tuna on Saturday - got to keep an eye on the forecast tho... I dont know if I have Cat Balls like Bernie to go out at 4 AM style tho on a -1.6 ebb.

Shane, I don't like the dark either but I don't like 10 foot rollers a lot more. the likelihood of that is possible.
