Default TA Meeting - Who's arriving 3/14?

Pilar and I are trying to decide whether to head to Newport on the 14th or wait until the morning of the 15th. If the ocean looks like it might be friendly, we're heading down on the 14th for sure. But if not... ???

If other tunaholics are planning on heading to Newport on the 14th, we probably will, too... y'know, get an early start on the party

Whatcha say?

Good Morning Jen, we're on the fence about Fri pm vs Sat am. Actually have both nights booked at the Shilo, and am waiting to see how my wife's Fri schedule looks. We won't be doing the ocean fishing thing this time, just hangin' out. I'll let you know soon. By the way, I still need a story about Pilar. Am I going to have to make one up? See ya........MM

I was actually considering going down as early as Wednesday but I need to river trial the Sea Lion and looking at the weather .... I may just come for the meeting and leave the boat at home.... It will depend on this front that is expected to arrive Tuesday night. I hope it comes in and gets through by Thursday. If not I may not burn a vacation day. Too many Tuna out there to do that. I am on the fence till at least Wednesday...

We're going over Friday after work. Should hit there about 7ish, space 29. I probably won't have any Hornitos on board, but there will be some good Canadian Blend and maybe a Bass beer or two. We can even break out some smoked butter clams (mmmmmmm) or attack the unprepared in a sortie against old town. (suit and tie not required)

We have a Dunes 5th-wheel toy-hauler and a gray Ford crewcab pickup. You'll recognize me by my Salty Dogs hat.

Pilar, I think you need a secretary! You're seriously behind on your email, bro. Here is an excerpt from Mark's email regarding the TA meeting:

"Now play along with this one: please tell me one interesting thing about
yourself, that only your friends & family know about. A moment of fame? Were
you on your college wrestling (or other sport) team? For example: I was in an
episode of "Murder She Wrote". This is for a "get to know each other" game.

Can you e-mail me a photo of you when you were a kid or tean-ager? Extra
credit if it's a photo of you with a fish."

There ya have it. Submit your story and photo to Mark Mc via email.

I'm headed down Friday night with the boat and the family is coming Saturday. If anyone needs a ride, either day, email me. I'm leaving around 4:30 pm and wife is leaving Saturday around noon.

As it turns out, we will coming down Friday afternoon. We will be checking into the Whaler motel around 3:00. I will have my cell phone. 503-830-5998. If nothing else we'll check out the RV park Friday eve. Also, for you RV'ers. If you stop by the chamber of commerce before 5:00 PM on Friday (a couple blocks before bridge), you can get a "Newport passport" card. Among other things, you can get two nights for the price of one at the Basin RV park. HJ

I will be coming down Friday. Do not have site reserved yet, but will try to get with the rest of you. Looking forward to it, and it will be a good rain gear/windbreaker test, even if the fishing conditions are less than ideal!

Well... heck! It looks like we're headed down Friday night as well. Probably won't roll into town until about 7:30-8:00, but we'll be there and try an look some of you up after we get checked in at the motel.

See you then!
