Default Newport Help, please

Heading to Newport on Wednesday (Aug. 6). Taking some newbies crabbing and would like to also get out for some bottom fish and/or salmon. I would really like to drop some pots in the ocean too. I have been out of Newport once or twice, but never for bottom fish and never crabbed outside of the bay. Where does one go? Is the salmon even open? Just looking to max out on the trip over, gas being what it is. PMs welcomed or post here for all to see. Any help greatly appreciated.

Salmon is currently open, but been dead quiet. Still waiting for the inshore water to warm up.
Crabbing is decent outside to the North (but South of the Lighthouse). Anywhere from 50' to 100'. I know you can crab to the South too, but I haven't done it.
Bottomfish is best to the south, there are reefs all the way down to Seal Rocks. Follow any charter boat, or look for others fishing.

Feel free to PM if you have further questions.

Good luck.

Salmon is open for COHO ONLY. No chinook south of Cape Falcon this year.
