Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Maybe. Let's see what all that North wind does to the warm water first.

Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Yes, Silverfish is planning to go for tuna IF it looks like we have a good chance of getting some. We burned almost $300 of fuel last Friday for no tuna, just a nice long boat ride and a great porpoise, whale, and bird show in murky water.

Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Had a similiar experience yesterday out of Depoe Bay. Was out past the 125 line, warmest water was 59.3. And no fish.

Maverick will be running that day, Thursday, Sat and Sun (Ladies Day!) as well. Can you say TUNA overdose?

Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Looks like everyone is on the same page. Geared for Halibut with visions of long fins. Can't wait to hear the tuna reports for the next couple of days. TUNA-TUNA-TUNA!!!

Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Whats the best guess as to how far the run will be out of Garibaldi on Sat.? Haven't ever been out @ Tillamook, But am sure ready to catch a tuna.

Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Pulling the plug on the Tuna dreams for this weekend. Weather (wind) and water conditions (Temp.) along with the reports for the week. I'll be sitting on the North end of the rock pile drifting for the larger flatties. Good luck to everyone!

Re: Newport - Friday Tuna Run
Friday's forecast has deteriorated--but it's only Wed morning and it may change again. I'll wait till Thursday night or Fri morning to make the call of still going for tuna or switch to halibut.
