Re: TUNA
Hey Dynamite, you know the thing folks say to justify having a beer early in the day ("it's afternoon somewhere in the world right now")? Well, same for tuna! You want them in April? Go to San Diego! You want them in early June? Go to Morro Bay! Last year the commercial fleet was getting them 70 - 80 miles off Central Oregon in mid June. All we know is, there are some odd signs right now like blooming daffodils the 1st week of Feb, and a few early albacore of So Cal. Does this mean we'll see them in close here before July? We'll know "in the fullness of time" (and we hope so!). Just keep watching this
Terrafin
and be ready to go when it's 57 degrees inside of the 125 line.

Only 4 months to go...will we still be sane?

Re: TUNA
Mark Mc: What is sane? I think sane is anyone who knows and loves tuna fishing. Some people think I'm INsane... what's the difference? whether I'm sane or INsane... isn't that kind of redundant?
I'm betting on June that they'll be within reach. Whether the ocean will let us get 'em is a different story... so my theory (or rather gut) may go unrequited

Re: TUNA
Has anyone fished for Albies/Tuna out of San Diego? What did you do with them?

Re: TUNA
Oh, Man!! All of a sudden I'm *very* hungry!! We just ate the
last of our smoked tuna a couple of weeks ago. Now we're down so
suffering along on smoked salmon. Bummer for me, huh??

Re: TUNA
Well, this fish was frozen since last August so let's wait & see what it tastes like. You might not want me for your buddy! That being said, I did put 1/2 bottle of Serendipity zinfandel in the brine to "compensate".

Re: TUNA
I've gotta think that it will be better than the smoked tuna that I froze and pulled out during the holidays. It did NOT keep its original flavor
