PC Report
Launched at Pacific City this morning in a foggy drizzle that never let up. Though the ocean was calm, it was cold and wet. Black Rockfish were boiling on the surface near the rock. The water temperature was around 48-50 F,with lots of jellyfish in the water. Got a smallish inshore halibut (which meant I couldn't catch bottom fish on an all-depth day), and spent an hour trolling for Coho in 200 to 400 feet of water. No strikes or drive-bys. Brrrrr.......it sure was cold for a summer day. Back on the beach by 10:00.

Re: PC Report
Thanks Tinman, I was wondering what I missed while sailing on the Puget Sound.....doesn't sound like too much. How's the beach? Last time I was there, it looked to be developing the fluff hump at the ramp......

Re: PC Report
Thanks Tinman...we had lots of Bass and plenty of Lings. Never really tried for Salmon, sounded pretty slow?
The fluff isn't to bad yet, but it's getting there.

Re: PC Report
Charles,
I'm glad that I wasn't the only one freezing out there! My partner and I tried to catch a coho, but only picked up one very large beach ball out trolling at 250 feet of water. It was fully inflated and the kids have had a blast with it. Glad I brouight home something!
Other than the ball, we only picked up four seabass and two crab. My boat must have fish repelant. I'll try to go out this coming weekend.
The ramp is getting a little soft. Didn't help this weekend when lots of cars ventured down and got stuck.
Thanks for the post!
Dave

You guys have two problems as I see it.....1). there are three of you that need to coordonate times AND 2).......You have to plan ahead so that your wives don't deliver in the middle of your seasons to hunt & fish.

Re: PC Report
Unfortunately, we were not out fishing. Boat is still at the shop awaiting a new fuel tank. Actually, my wife is all over me wondering when the heck we're going fishing! So for next time, let's see, 9 months, March-May being optimal off season delivery time (must be careful to also plan around rat killing, right Bill!) , add 3, carry the 2.....looks like ideal spawning time would be right around the iFish doryman's BBQ...!!

Heck, half the dory fleet uses portable 6 gallon tanks. Get a couple of those and a fuel hose and go fishn'
