Default Looking for a few good fisherpersons

I'm planning an experimental Albacore fishing technique tripe for this summer and need ten good fishingpersons to go along who will be willing to share expenses only. I have the Blitz and will be trying a new technique for Albacore and I need guys who are experieced with tuna fishing to go along. I will be taking the trip on short notice so would need to call you from a list to let you know. Most likely it will be a weekday sometime in late July when the fish are in. If you're interested, drop me a line and include your home or business number. At any rate, it will be a blast! We will use my gear (since it's a technique I want to try) but you can use your own poles if you'd like. I would recommend 40 to 60# test mono or flourocarbon only because it is important for the technique I want to develope if it works. More on that later. So sign up! I expect expenses will be somewhere around $40 depending on fuel prices.

Arrghhh! I'm not an experienced tuna fisherman (I can barely spell albacore), but I'm planning on becoming one this summer. Your offer made my hands tremble and my mouth water - so if it arises that you've got a seat (you know, the short notice thing) I'd like to go. (Make that I'd kill to go)

Put my name on the list as a wannabe, camp-follower, stowaway, whatever. And keep me in mind just in case.

Skein - who trembles at the mention of tttuuunnna.

Albacore Tuna Captain - put me on your list for tuna experimenters. I have TUNA knowledge and a open mind. I only have charter TUNA fishing experiences. However, I am a serious TUNA wanabe as well. I am trying to find ways to rectify that. Trying to bribe friends that have ocean boats to go out. I am ready, willing, and able to go out on short notice. I wouldn't walk a mile for a Camel but I would walk 30 miles for a TUNA.

Capt. Mike

Put me on the list. I have fished for albies as a passion and a hobbie for the last 20 years and I just can't get enough of them. I worked on the party boats in San Diego for 4 years and have done a little bit of commercial fishing also. I am self employed and short notice is good with me and during the week is better. Phone is 503 623-6665.

By the way, have you tried using fish traps for albies??? If not I will bring some to the March Madness on the 15th. and show some to you.

Hey Mike, put me on the list if there is room. I'll be interested in talking to you about your experiment. Marty & I have spent a fair amount of time using "light" gear, both trolling & drifting/ casting to jumpers, etc. with pretty good success. And if you want to make it more than a 12 hour trip...well you know what I'm thinking. - MArk

Count me in as well. I have fished albies for the last 8 years from Ensenada to Oregon on everything from half an anchovy to a piece of chain. Iron, traps, feathers, plugs, mooching. I can run outriggers and drails.

Even if you are full, I would love to hear about your idea.

Mike,
What a wonderful offer and opportunity for Ifishers! You are a great addition to the group! I would love to go and enjoy that experience...it would be especially nice as I fish primarily during the week..however, I think, since I have my own boat that i would be better to have some of the folks that don't have a regular ride or their own boat to get the first crack at your offer. If you are ever desparate to fill a "trip" or need help with any last minute plans, I am open for an adventure. I hope all the folks that need a ride get a chance to go on this or a regular trip with you.

Sign me up as well. you probably have enough already but I have gear. will travel...

I saw this post and a shiver went down my spine....

They don't call me bait boy for nothin' .... And I come with references...

Scratch the reference thing They might discredit me for a space on the trip ..

Hey Captain.....I live here in Newport and have lots of time off...265 5904

I went to school with Rob ( Misty ) and fished here my whole life. When they told the charters to find a new fishery I spent most the summer fishing on the Superstar with him.
What a blast that summer was...

Anyway...I am dieing to find out the new technique.

Hey, this response is great! Okay, I'm giving everyone a chance, making a list and checking it twice. Anyone else care to give me their numbers, I'll put em on the list and I will be making calls about three days before I do the trip. As soon as the Albies show up, we're off!! Stay tuned and keep your poles hot! This is what I mean about getting a tuna tuffy! Everyone loves a good tuna score!

Albacore Tuna Captain .... Are you going to try the Japanese 'Green stick method"?

Anyway, I've caught a few tuna in small boats, not so much in bigger boats. I'd love to help you figure out your new technique. There is a catch though, my mate is in too.

We're a matched set
