Default Questions on crabbing

OK here is the discussion.

Thursday the incoming tide is a 1.9 to a 9.2 which is a change of 7.3 Feet.

Times are 6:29 am low and hi is at 12:30 PM.

Question to crab or not to crab?

Buddies say that if there is over a 7 foot tide change not to waste our time.

What do the experts have to say on this topic.

Crab or stay at home?

Can't say I'm an expert, but you probably will only get about 2 hours of crabbing out of the deal between slack and the first part of incoming. To me it's not worth the time. Unless you can hit the motherload on the first couple of drops. What's high slack to low tide look like?? Maybe crab for a bit in the morning, have some breakfast during the heavy flow and go at it again at lunch. I've done that one before.

I have had my best luck on incoming tides. Gets better the closer to the high and slack. It seems to drop way off on the outgoing. I have crabbed on a bigger change than the one your looking at no problems. As long as the weather is in your favor go out and have fun.
