Default Good deer food for Trail Cam?

Wondering what a cheap food might be that i can throw out by my trail cams to see what bucks may be roaming the area. Is oatmeal something they might like? Thanks guys.

Think Scents not food....... Doe pee, fawn pee etc. etc.

I don't like using food as it brings bears in. Apples etc.

I've been using dry cob. About $11 for a 50 lb bag from the feed store. Rolled corn, oats & barley. Must taste like candy because they are hammering it. Would be curious to hear if there is something cheaper. Also have an apple-flavored salt block going.

It's working pretty good. Almost never see bucks on the property, just does & fawns, but have gotten pictures of several bucks including one decent 4-point. Too bad I'm not allowed to shoot the pets.

Apples work like a charm in my ares. Brings them in over and over. But I don't have any bears around apperently because they have never touched a apple.

Yep, apples but only if you're sure there are no bears. We just collect up apples from under trees where they aren't getting used. Lots of people don't use their apples. If you just ask, most folks will be glad to let you have the ones on the ground. We never buy them.
Also, C'mere deer has worked good for us. We spray it on leafy vegetation in view of the camera. You can see the leaves disappearing as pictures progress. I think watered down apple juice might work the same since that's what c'mere deer smells like mostly.

I've heard good things about Allbreed., just bought 50 lbs to try. I'm anxiously awaiting two new trailcams I purchased online. My one trailcam is busy trying to catch beavers debarking 40 year old Filbert trees in a friends orchard. 15 trees so far. didn't cach him on the camera but did see a nice 4 point blacktail one morning there. Hope he stays around in september.

I like rock salt. Dump it while the ground still has moisture and it will absorb the salt. Animals will hit it for years and years. I've got some really popular ones that the animals have dug down 3+ feet.
