Default Halibut season?

I've been sleeping for about the last three months, and don't know if the regs have been put out by ODFW yet? They seem to be hard to find on their site, I just might missing something. It's time start askin the big boss man for some days off.

In Washington the regulations are established by the Pacific Fishery Management Council which develops the halibut catch sharing plan; this plan is adopted by the federal National Marine Fisheries Service. The overall catch level for halibut is determined annually by the International Pacific Halibut Commission. and as far as i can tell they have yet to release any dates

Yea Ha! They plan to open up 3 days each week, and have 6 days initially rather than 4! Looks like they are trying to move the majority of the fishing to May/June rather than August, which really isn't that great an idea from a weather standpoint.

From here: (this is their recommendation, and is not officially set)

http://hmsc.oregonstate.edu/odfw/fin..._regs2003.html

The ODFW proposal is the following:

Spring all-depth open dates:

May 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17. If quota remains after these days, one or more of the following back-up dates are proposed: June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28

Summer all-depth open dates (decision in late June or early July depending on catch in the Spring fishery):

If one day is open - August 2
If two days are open - August 1 and 2
If three days are open - August 1, 2, and 9
If four days are open - August 1, 2, 8, and 9
If quota remains after the initial opener, the fishery would continue every other Friday-Saturday starting August 22 until the end of September. The dates are August 22, 23, September 5, 6, 19, and 20. If quota remains after these dates, the fishery is proposed to reopen on one or more of the following dates: October 17 and 18
