Default Shark fishing OR coast-Where? How?

I have seen a few charters talk about shark fishing. I would really like to give it a whirl. Any ideas? Anyone do this often? Let me know.

Thanks

Just go west! They are everywhere, especially the farther out you go. There were instances last summer where there were a ton of them in close but I think usually the bulk of them are out in the deep blue.

On a tuna trip we may see literally 50+. On occasion someone carks one with their prop because they're not the smartest fish in the sea. All you have to do to catch them is find them. It's getting them in the boat that is exciting!

Steel leaders are mandatory and don't just use a foot or two, use 4-5 as they will sometimes get wrapped up in the line. Big hooks, bloody bait, and you're in.

Late summer out of Coos bay head south to pinicales along the shore 1/2- 1 mile out.
Use milk jugs for bobbers tied with a slider and break off line 2#-4# test. Set a bobber stop at a depth you see fish. Use fresh bait like sea bass minus the fillets. Steel leader and 16/0 circle hooks honed to a cutting edge not a point. 2-feet of leader is good with 4oz weight at the swivel.

If you can get some fresh chum use it.
Shark fishing is ablast It starts slow then heats up.

Try your luck fishing rock fish here first when you get bit off you know its time to
