Hi Russ, my experience with it is that it's fun to do at least once; the seafood is somewhat over-rated (not much local fresh fin-fish in season, just shellfish, and portions are small); it is a good chance to taste a number of Oregon wines at one stop. Go at least once for the fun of it & form your own opinion. However, don't expect the gastronomic satisfaction of a sit-down fish dinner at a great restaurant.

Lets put it this way...

Large crowds, long lines, lots of opportunities for "people" watching, lots of wines, not so much food, some local micro brews, specialty art and product sales, did I mention very large crowds (at least on Saturday).

There is lots of public transportation, so there is NO EXCUSE FOR DRINKING AND DRIVING.

If you don't have a motel room already, don't plan on finding one. Most folks book months in advance for this event. Saturday is the most crowded, with most of the locals going on Friday or Sunday to avoid the crowds.

You can have a great time at this event. If you want to combine a fishing (herring maybe?) with this event, just remember the boat ramp at So. Beach Marina can be very hard to get in and out of because of the parking and crowds.

Best of luck. SD

Hey Bruce!

Thanks for the plug on the Blitz! If you are going to be on your boat this weekend, I'll stop by to say hello. Also, I think Doug and Kelly are coming over so maybe we can get a little party of our own going. Would love to have you meet Diana.

Again thanks and hope to see ya.

Mike
