Default Garibaldi Fri -Sun ***Update***

I know... OTC in Hammond...but I want to be running Fri - Sun. If, and only if, the forecast holds and my crew doesn't flake I want to run Friday to at least W124.30 for a Tuna spot check and then maybe a run for Halibut or in for coho...

see below

Anybody else?
I'll be at Garibaldi on Friday, running for halibut and/or tuna. Will be on 78. If we run into any tuna, we'll give a yell. Are you going to fish halibut first or chase tuna first?

I'll chase tuna first so that I can use as many rods and handlines as I can get out...but I also won't be running to the 125 line..I'm generally on 14 but I leave 1 radio on scan..I'll certainly call out if I touch a fish!

Thanks. I don't know what we will do first. In the past, I seem to have noticed that the bite was not as good at Halibut Hill when the tide was ebbing. On Friday, leaving at 5 would get us out to the hill about the time the tide would start to ebb. So, I might wait until the tide turns at 12:30 or so. Do you have any experience with the quality of the halibut bite depending on the ebb or flow?

I try to fish around either slack as the current seems to slow...even out there...coupla times this year I guess the n -s current has been flying out there but I have yet to get out there this year. Friday will be the first time for me in a year.

I'm going to try and get out of port 5:30 to 6:00...My Dad is NOT a morning person though - so it is challenging to kick him out of bed....and at 60 years old, he isn't about to change...I always have my radio on scan. Someone said something about channel 78, another guy runs 14. We'll talk to anyone on any channel we here someone on. Hope to hook up with you Friday.

Were in a 26' striper as well...no name 'on' the boat, but I think we've finally settled on calling her "Chip Breaker"...anyone know a good sign shop ??

I'll be out of Italy on friday with Captain white cloud. I like the latest chloro shot it shows the water has moved in from last week. I think Im going to point the captain in the direcdtion of the northern side of the break.

We'll be monitoring 14 throughout the day Cd give us a shout. We'll be in a 26ft glacier bay hard top.

What are the coordinates of the area you like on the latest chloro shot? I saw the latest on Terrafin and just wondered what area you liked.

live bait is iffy for friday at Hammond, so Slabhunter will be running out of GB. Leaving about 5:15. Saw the cholorophyll break at about 45 40 by 125 as well. No pictures north of that. I'll probably head for that area and work NW. Will be on channel 14. Lets keep in touch.

Bait Boy: Thanks for the coordinates. Looks good to me also. Too bad the area to the north is blank. But, it is sunny on the coast today, so there might be some more good shots coming our way. Thanks again.

just a reminder/note to let you guys that are launching at Garibaldi that it is Garibaldi Days this weekend and traffic and parking can be very limited. there is a parade that used to work its way around the launch (dont know if it still does) in the afternoon as well and that will affect taking out etc.

ttt,

I am running with one other on board. I will probably stay inside of 124.35 and closer to the 45.35 line ...anybody slower and smaller who wants to run with me give a shout. I plan on pulling away from the ramp at first light. I may also fish the hill and coho on the way in...unless there is a significant forecast change
