Default Food for thought

Today I noticed that one of the guys working in the lab next to me was wearing a long-range boat shirt, so I got into BSing w/ him about TUNA!. Mind you I am spending this summer in the bay area for an internship.

He was really suprised to hear about our great TUNA! fishery and ended up asking how far we need to run to find them. When I told him that a good day was generally about 20-30 miles, and bad days (when i can personally run) were about 50 miles, his jaw just dropped.

Turns out that down here, 50 miles to the fish is a darn nice day. This just made me think a lot about how lucky we are to even be able to fish for TUNA! at all. And you know, if this is the price we have to pay for the glory that was last year's season, then I say so be it. End rant.
