Newport Thursday

I was thinking about going out of Newport Thursday, seeking the wily ling cod. anyone else thinking about that day? The weather forcast seems reasonable. I was thinking of trying the rockpile this time, maybe (the inner reefs were good Tuesday). How is the pile this time of year? Have had my first taste for the year and now am re-addicted!

The wife and I had a great day Tuesday..limits of blacks/greenling and 4 nice lings. We released about 15 more small oer or undersized lings and caught one decent cabazone. The ocean was great and the sun was a shinin'. I don't have a mate for tomorrow yet so may not go (I do hate to fish alone...too lazy and no one to blame!). It was just an idea for the February reprieve. It looks like the window will close early this year so it may be the last bottom fish until summer. I hope you all have a great day! north of Johnsons rock at the high spot coming out of ~70' water was crowded and all drop offs seemed to have a couple of lings on them. Short ride down the hill from the jaws.

I'm working hard on the boss for the day off. If it happens I'm in! Garibaldi was very poor to me last week and kind of bummed me out for the first trip of the year. Let me know the details and I'll get back with you. Corrirod??????????
