Default OK,OK,OK,,,, My boat has a name!

I found out what Nimpkish means. "People of the river".Perfect.
My father lives at the village site of the natives who called them selves the Nimpkish .If you know myself, you would see that a native word fits. Im a wildly avid artifact hunter. I have a very substantial arrowhead collection. My points span the entire time period from 11000 years ago, till present. Ive spent the last 8 years hunting , reading , and learning about the native people, the way they lived, the tools they used and the points they created.
The language that the N. Vancouver people spoke is all but gone ,only 9% of the natives still know the language. The government made it illlegal to speak it for 40 years.
While looking for the translation of the word Nimpkish , i learned much about the people of North Vancouver Island.Another sad tale of the whites treating the natives awful.
My wife likes it and so do I. "Nimpkish". Thanks for everyones help. Now let the jokes fly.
I know it sounds funny and it will rhyme with almost anything , but i like it. id. p.

ID - sounds like the name is appropriate, alright!

Yes, I could have a field day with that name, but I'll be nice and just say "Congrats!!!"

Nice name for a boat. I think that it is only fitting for a boat named as such to carry people of the ocean/river/lake to the happy hunting grounds.....

Congratulations on the boat naming. It is a name that is fitting for your vessel.

Now, I seem to remember reading something about a boat naming ceremony somewhere around here, let me see if I can dig that up.

Oops, it was a boat de-naming ceremony.

Still, it is a rather interesting read.

Bait Boy, I hope you meant happy hunting (as in FISHING  ) grounds, not Happy Hunting Grounds (as in the native american idea of the after-life!)

There,s other tribes to consider:

The Whimpkish "people afraid of river'
Or Whuss-sea 'people afraid of Whimpkish and the ocean"

Its kinda ironic that you picked that out, because I had the same thought as I typed it in that someone would pick up on the happy hunting grounds....
