3.99 Gas!!!
Just bought gas at the Damascus Safeway for 3.99 a gallon. How sad is it that 3.99 a gallon seems cheap now

Re: 3.99 Gas!!!
I'll take it, but those greedy oil companys better take a billion or two or three less profit to get the price down.

Dont worry, diesel is still going up!
I saw 5.11 a gallon today in Cascade Locks and 5.07 in Gresham.

If their profit went to zero, you'd save about 35 cents a gallon. And in a few years they'd all be bankrupt and we can all walk or ride a bike.

You are saying that the oil companies are operating on a profit margin of less that 8%... I don't have any great insight on this issue... but, I think I would need to review some annual reports before I would believe that.
It is nice to see gas drop below $4.00. I hope it keeps going.

So read the annual reports. As of April of 2008, the oil companies have an average profit of 8%.
See P. 5.

Re: 3.99 Gas!!!
Here's a web site I like using to monitor fuel prices where I'm traveling:

Re: 3.99 Gas!!!
Well I keep waiting but have not seen the price of gas here in Redmond go down even a penny yet. I bet if the price of oil had jumped 16 dollers in three days the price would of gone up, wish it would go down at the same rate is it increases.

Also how much is 8%? Think of how much money 8% still is.

Net, not gross. Consider reading the article.

ALL I know is that the Government makes more per gallon than the Oil Companies do... and the GOV creates NOTHING!!!! they are not doing the research and exploration, they are not drilling, they are not refining, they are not distributing!!! all they are doing is scamming the 'ala-mode' off of the pie and then not spending what they take in areas they priomised... of course this goes for taxes in general... not just gas tax
