Finally some decent terrafin shots today. No good chloro shots though.
Looks to still be way offshore, like 80 nm, from Newprot to get to the warm , i.e. 60+ water. Granted there may be fish in closer than that, but the water I'd like to fish is still way out there, a bit out of my comfort range. I'll go maybe to 60 nm offshore in really good conditions, but 80 is too far in my boat.
The warm water is closer to Garibaldi, maybe 60 nm or so.
There is a nice plume near Coos bay, but it's not real warm, high 50s.
It would be really nice to have a calm ocean and some good SST shots later this week, like Wed.!
I don't think I've been on the water in July this year and I'm getting frustrated! Hopefull that just means that we'll have a wonderful August and Sept!
ron m -- who needs to get a new computer so the software will give the temp readout! I'm still judging temp by the color!
Look for the winds to shift by friday or saturday. The direction of the wind will bring the warm water closer. Depending on what the wind velocity is will determine how much closer that warm will be. Hopefully the wind will also clear the clouds for a clear shot giving us good SST readings.

I drove down and looked at the ocean Saturday afternoon, looked at the forecast (Not NOAA it is also worthless) and due to a lack of ambition to get the projected snot pounded out of me, and a lack of crew I stayed home and did some chores I have been needing to get done.
I will let the Tillamook armada make their report, but from what I heard, it wasnt stellar
