Default Sturgeon Report 2/16

What a horrible day to start...But then it totally redeemed itself.

Started in the channel. There was no flow on the incoming tide. Caught a few shakers. Moved out to the CR with fresh smelt. From 2:00 until 5:00 we boated 70 fish, 2 of them being keeper size. I punched my tag last Sunday so I wouldn't have kept one this weekend even if it was open. Frozen smelt worked as good as fresh. Didn't use/need scent. We had three different triples. It was a fun afternoon.

Thanks for the posting.

If the other rivers blow up, I might have to try for some gators instead of the silvery lil suckers!

In the middle of the tide 10s were plenty with 80# tough line +. Deepest holes on the outgoing seemed to be the ticket.
