Default increasing your radar signiture?

Good Morning Salty Ones,

It seems like I read a while back about a unit that increased your boats radar signiture to other units. Since at this point radar will not be on my boat, I thought I would make it easier for other people to see me. Anybody run something like this? What are the cost in both money and space with these units?

Rojo,

I checked their website under radar, accesories, and antennas. Is there another keyword I am missing? Thanks.

Try radar reflectors

Black Magic,

Thanks, just what I was looking for.

Another question, would a 20' aluminum boat need a relfector? It seems that the info points towards small wood and fiberglass boats.

A reflector high on your mast would help even on an aluminum boat.

Yes use a reflector..On my radar I can adjust the gain to even mark the plastic speed bouys, but alot of people don't go to the trouble of doing that when they need to they just leave it at one setting...Roger

A small boat can disappear from radar when it is between ocean swells, even if it is constructed of metal. A reflector up as high as possible will help this condition.
