Default Absolute Latest SST Even When Cloudy!

This is the latest SST from the AMSR satellite that can see through the clouds. Not very detailed but shows well the general situation. The 235 line is what we know as the 125 line and 234 is the 126 and so on. Each colored block is a rectangle of 10.6nm wide by 20nm long or "about" 12.5 miles wide by 17.25 miles long. 16 blocks that make up one degree of latitude by 1 degree of longitude, so each block is .25 in decimal format. You can figure out a good point to at least shoot for.

If you learn how to use this site it can be a valuable tool. Just select from the 2 different passes and "descending" updates every morning and "ascending" every evening. On the far left on the world map you can see where the satellite is on its different passes if you check it at various times during the day.

I posted this in another thread but thought I would post it as a stand alone. Thanks Corrirod, I learned how to use it and view it as a valuable tool.

Bee Safe....

Coastwatch browser has added the AMSR-E satellite. Here is a sample of the July 18, 2008 data.

Under: 1) Select a data set:
select: SST, Aqua AMSR-E, 0.25 degrees, Global*

Now we can see through the clouds! At least we can get a general direction and find the tuna before we reach that distant point, hopefully.

Thanks Jerry. Are you possibly thinking tuna for Sunday? Let me know. I'm thinking of running out and getting the "Reel Crazy" bloodied up.

Thanks Jerry. I wonder if the Terrafin that we pay $99 to will soon get a feed from that satellite. Anyway, its nice that this new "see through the clouds" satellite info is free. Good luck chasing them if you go out this coming week. I may give it a try Monday, Tue, or Wed, then I'm off to a family reunion.
