Default Northern TA Meetings

Hi y'all!

Last night's meeting of the TA kind was once again an informative and fun evening.

Many thanks to PeterMac for securing the space at the Raccoon Lodge and sharing his bar-crossing vid. Thanks to Corrirod and Re:Play for bringing the VCR and cable so we could watch it on the big-screen.

Thanks also to everyone who brought gear to demo. Chum-King - Thanks for the info on the pelagic species regulation changes draft. Everyone - Please put the August ODFW commission meeting on your calendars. August 8, 2003 in Astoria . You want these changes. Please sacrifice 1 day to make them happen.

Great to see our out of town guests of honor. Distance award goes to Master Baiter, up from California - (Thomas, did you ever find your way to Cascade Locks?) Keta: Always a pleasure!

Thanks go to the Raccoon Lodge for letting us take over the "den". It was a comfy and welcoming atmosphere.

AND - They've invited us back!

Last week, Corrirod introduced me to the owner of Santana's who has graciously invited us to use his establishment for meetings - even on Fridays (they start to get busy around 9 or 9:30pm)

My proposal is this - if we wish to continue to hold TA meetings, we alternate monthly; holding Friday meetings at Santana's (great mexican food - and all the right tequila  - Free soft drinks and a discount for dinner) and mid-week meetings at the Raccoon Lodge.

I think enough folks are heading down to Newport in March that we won't hold a northern meeting next month. Anyone oppose?

Then, in April, we schedule a meeting at Santana's on a Friday evening.

Any opinions? Post 'em here!

Sounds like a fair and equitable plan Jen! Last5 night was a fun meeting. A few less people but that gave me a chance to meet more people.Chum King was a particular delight to talk with...great information and pretty much dispationate evaluations. He is a real asset to us. We almost opened a new chain of clothing stores, but Rod was too hesitant about it! (lol) I plan to make all the weekday meetings and try to make a few Friday meetings.
The Racoon Lodge was a great site to meet. Hope we didn't drive to many customers out! I didn't get to try the food, but the stout was great! Until next time...summer IS on its way!

Oh yeah! Someone mentioned that we ought to buy tuna gear in bulk and split the cost amongst us. I immediately thought of Rod.

Rod - you didn't really want to find a job, did you? I mean, don't you have one already as official Salty Dog supplier?

It was another great meeting, thanks Jen/PeterMac for getting everything planned and organized. Even with a slightly smaller crowd I still didn't get to talk with everyone but hey, there's always the Newport meeting.

I think having the next Northern TA in April is a good idea.

And finally, I've decided to add procurement specialist to my resume, thank you very much!

Great seeing everyone!

Great meeting Pilar's Mate, PeterMac, Pilar, and all. My first time to meet this bunch, and I really enjoyed and appreciated it.

The idea of alternating meetings makes sense to me. I plan to come to New Port in March.

I just wanted to say that it was a great pleasure to get a chance to put some faces to names and names to "ifish ID's" last night. Unfortunately, there never seems to be enough time at get togethers like this so I wasn't able to visit with everyone. Oh well, next time.

It was great talkin' tuna with ya'll, even though I am still speaking from a position of serious inexperience... I do plan to work on fixing that problem.

The video was good, although the narrator was talking like he'd been inhaling helium, and that on top of the Aussie accent.

Great meeting! I could have stayed much later, but that would not have been a good idea on a monday night! Glad everyone like the Racoon!

I really enjoyed meeting everyone, some for the second time, and felt a lot of good chemistry within the group.

I'm hooked, and now all I have to do is convince some of you that I can be an asset as a deckhand  !!!

It was nice meeting those there that I haven't met before and seeing those I've met before. You all are a good crew.
