Default Boat Insulation

I was reading on the Silver Streak website the other day, and they mention spraying insulation on the inner surfaces of the hull to reduce the noise of water hitting the hull. THis noise is a very tinny, irritating one. I have the recessed bow in my 20' HC Sea Runner, with a smallish fishbox. I'm thinking of having insulation sprayed into the bow, to reduce noise and hopefully insulate the fishbox. Has anybody done this? Who does this sort of thing? Trucking insulation companies? The deck area already is foamed, so it shouldn't be a big job to do the bow area.

I used some stuff called Silent Running on my plastic side boxes to reduce the drone of the big block. Did exactly what I wanted it to do. It is brushed or rolled one, but tenaciously sticks well when cured.

You might look into the product at the link below. I know some people who used it on their c-dory's with favorable results.

You might want to research it a bit.

Pacific skiff also puts pour foam against the inside of thier hulls.

Some people are against this because of the belief that the foam traps moisture against the hull and causes crevice corrosion in the aluminum. Some have removed the foam to find thier hull pitted nearly all the way through.

But many manufacturers do it, and the hulls seem to last just fine.
