Re: Ever Wonder.....
Some of us aren't too bright and others are really smart.
I fall into the first group by the way.
As for the ice cream slime, I don't know but will wait for the answer as ice cream is a staple of life. Almost as important as fishing.

Ever wonder why some companies mail out documents and in the body of the document there is a page that is totally blank, and at the bottom in small letters it says "this page intentionally left blank"
Why?

Ever wonder what the "I" in "IFish" stands for? Does it mean "internet"? "incredible"? or does it just mean "I" as in "I fish therefore I am"?
Or does it just not have any meaning at all?

I have a coffee maker that has a button on it for a "strong" brew. I wonder how hitting that button makes any difference...seems to me that the amount of grounds and amount of water determine that.
Also, braille on the drive though ATM's?....

Re: Ever Wonder.....

No idea
why some male dogs lift their legs and some squat
It's learned behavior if your dog doesn't grow up around other male dogs that do this chances are it won't especially if it's neutered.
Ever wonder why some companies mail out documents and in the body of the document there is a page that is totally blank, and at the bottom in small letters it says "this page intentionally left blank"
It has to do with automation in printing and cost effectiveness of printing out things on certain sizes of paper. So when the paper is folded and cut it is ready for binding. In legal documents it is often left there so the entire contract doesn't have to be re-written just because a section was omitted. Bulk mailings fall into the first category.
Ever wonder why we cant buy 4.299 gals of gas but our currency wont let you pay for it until it reaches an even number.
This one is common sense. You can't mint or print a denomination for every fractional transaction so you have to round up or down to the smallest denomination of the currency.
why some people are "Chevy, Dodge or Ford people? For the most part, the bunch of them have never owned the other manufactures vehicles. How would they really know that they have made the correct choice in life?
Because people like to think they make the right choices and if they believe their choice is the best they can feel good about themselves. They would rather bury their head in the sand then to admit they could have possibly made a better choice by doing something else.
Ever wonder what the "I" in "IFish" stands for? Does it mean "internet"? "incredible"? or does it just mean "I" as in "I fish therefore I am"?
"I" have no idea.
I wonder how Google made their street maps...how is it possible to take a 3d image of something so immense?
They tessellate a series of 2d images over a 3d surface. Not a lot of difficulty in doing it anymore. Most game engines in computer games do something of the sort for the terrain in the game. The math for doing it is pretty straightforward. Some software can actually create 3d images by analyzing the lines in 2d images. That is much harder.
I have a coffee maker that has a button on it for a "strong" brew. I wonder how hitting that button makes any difference...seems to me that the amount of grounds and amount of water determine that.
My guess would be that it heats the water to a higher temperature before sending it over the beans to leach more coffee from the beans.
Also, braille on the drive though ATM's?
Because they are the same units that you walk up to as well they just put them in a drive through. Why would they manufacture two types just because you are driving up to some of them not walking? Leaving the braille on them makes sense from a cost to manufacture standpoint as it doesn't make them any less usable for sighted users.

Well assuming that if you pick the wrong one and one of the following was the correct one, here is what would happen to you:
Christianity: You go to hell forever to be tormented for eternity
Judaism: You go to purgatory to be judged. Not really sure if they are clear on what happens after your punishment is over if you get to go to heaven or not after that? Somebody who knows Judaism better than I could probably tell you.
Islam: You go to hell forever to be tormented for eternity but there are levels of hell depending on how bad you were.
Hinduism: You get to try again, you may be punished for a time if you get reincarnated into their version of hell because you were really bad this time around.
Buddhism: You get to try again, you may be punished for a time if you get reincarnated into their version of hell because you were really bad this time around.
Mormonism: The really bad people go into outer darkness forever the rest get some level of heaven based largely on their works here on earth.
Jehovah's Witness: You get burned up in Hell and you cease to exist so the punishment isn't eternal you just aren't around in the afterlife anymore if I understand them correctly.
Bahá'í: You get placed further from God in the afterlife than someone who chose better
First people's animistic belief systems: All over the map some believe in hell some don't, some you get to come back and try again, others have levels of bad hunting or the withholding of certain privileges others you walk lost through the cosmos forever.
Atheism: You just die and cease to exist.
Agnosticism: We won't know if there is a God or heaven or Hell until after we die and then who knows, we could just end or we could face God, we can't know for sure.

I always wonder why my right shoelace seems to come untied, if I do not double knot it?
Why will you always drip something on a shirt if you are trying to stay clean..... but really get down and dirty, and it seems to stay more clean?
Why do people point out the obvious? This guy is 10 for 10 tonight?? Etc
Why do fish bite once you stop paying attention?
Why do women cheer for the team thats playing YOUR team??

Why?

That has to do with how the product is made. They don't print each individual page one at a time. They are all printed on large sheets that are "4 up" or "8 up". What that means is there are 4 or 8 "pages" on one side of the large sheet and 4 or 8 on the other side. You could say the odd page numbers on one side and the even on the other, but not always. Now, take that large sheet and fold it in half. Then fold it in half the other way, then again, and again etc. Now you have a book in your hand, just cut 1/4 of an inch off all 4 sides, bind them together and bingo. A book. You should be able to see now that the reason there is a blank page is there was a blank spot on the large sheet that they didn't have information to fill it with, so it is "Intentionally left blank."

I walked up to a steamroller one time and it had a sticker of a guy with just the top half of his body sticking out from under the roller and big letters DANGER!!! Well duh...
And why is that when a store has an odd step somewhere the sign "Watch your step" is always down on the step itself.. Right on what you're going to trip over if you don't look down...

Re: Ever Wonder.....
"Ever wonder what that slimy stuff is that sometimes grows on old ice cream in the freezer."
Sublimation of an element or compound is a transition from the solid to gas phase with no intermediate liquid stage. Sublimation is a phase transition that occurs at temperatures and pressures below the triple point (see phase diagram).
At normal pressures, most chemical compounds and elements possess three different states at different temperatures. In these cases the transition from the solid to the gaseous state requires an intermediate liquid state. However, for some elements or substances at some pressures the material may pass directly from a solid into the gaseous state. This can occur if the atmospheric pressure exerted on the substance is too low to stop the molecules from escaping from the solid state.
The opposite of sublimation is deposition. The formation of frost is an example of meteorological deposition.
The frozen water in the icecream sublimates and leaves the sugars, creams, and other solids that were in the mixture. The solids alone, without the water content, have a lower freezing temperature than the mixture itself, so the residual isnt in a frozen state.
I thunked of this all bye myselves. Eat that myth busters!!!
I wonder why we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

Re: Ever Wonder.....
I've wondered, since I was a kid:
"WHY do streetlamps turn off when I walk under them, and turn on again after I've passed" ???
Happens to me all the time, sometimes 3-4 in a row.

Re: Ever Wonder.....
Ever wonder why...
When paying with a credit card for diesel (or gas), if your transaction is going to be over $100 they can't run it at the pump? What happens if your card fails? Say you only have $75 available but your rig takes $125? They have already dispensed the fuel, are they going to take it back?
When using an ATM at your bank, after you insert your card it asks you if you want English or Spanish?

Happens to me all the time. A couple times I've had serious spells on the freeway where I thought I was going to wreck.

I wonder why the propane bottle surface freezes up with condensation, when in use, even when the outside temperature is above freezing.

ever wonder why, will ALL the technology we have, that bread still comes with those useless heels?
Ever wonder why they can't make a microwave that has a glass tray that actually stays on the track every time.

I know this one! It's because the gas law theory of pressure:
If the pressure goes down - since it's in use - but the volume stays the same, then the temperature must compensate by also decreasing, therefore it cools down.

Re: Ever Wonder.....
Ever wonder why the solar system is relatively flat? All the planets revolve on roughly the same plane around the sun... why?

Re: Ever Wonder.....
Why don't potato chips come in a box anymore ?
You had your choice, plain or BBQ, after you finished one bag from the box you always had the other....2 bags per box....it was the original 2 for 1 , and they didn't even know !

No one would fall off because gravity still sucks. I think we would get heavier because cetrifigal force lightens our weight. Anyone care to make a calculation?
We would all get dizzy if the earth stopped. Maybe those in Alaska wouldn't get as dizzy as those at the equator.
