That can change with the tide. Morning fishing is generally better everywhere but right now the
tides are running High to low in the Afternoon. When that changes the chances of an afternoon fish will be better. The most important thing to catch Springer is " You have to be on the water "
Duh ! I hear people with theories about tides, bait and all but the bottom line is Pay your Dues.

So what's the Wind doing out there ? I can take the rain but the wind makes it a little tough to keep the Bow Straight. There is a strong East wind in Gresham which means the South wind might be Ok ? I would like to go out tonight.

Just Fish, go I-84 to I-5 southbound. When you go over the Marquam Bridge in downtown Portland get in the right hand lane. You will see an exit to your right that says "Lake Oswego", Hwy. 43. Follow 43 or Macadam Ave. to a traffic light where you turn left to Willamette Park. There is a sign for the park. There is a great boat ramp (no charge). Go up river to the Sellwood Bridge, maybe a half mile.

Just Fish,

That's a long drive for tht slim chance of catching a springer there. Your hearing the reports of fishermen who fish there every single morning....They live there. I'd wait till the numbers pick up....my 2

Go I-84 to I-205 south, take the Johnson Creek exit. Turn right. Head westbound on Johnson Creek, it turns into Tacoma after you cross over 99E. Keep heading west and you run over the Sellwood Bridge.

I agree with Abalone, pay your dues, and you will have a great time, and even get into some fish.

Peace, Tom

Well I don't know, I think you might be wasting your time. The Sellwood fish are always early fish. By the time you get here the run for the day will be over. BUT I do have good news. The fish are going over Bonneville Dam. First fish went over Feb 10th. They are headed your way.
