Default Feb 7 ODFW Commission Meeting

Please note: Nearshore issue is Exhibit C. I'm trying to find out what this means in terms of timing. My best guess is early afternoon.

Take the day off and go to the sportsmen's show... pop into the meeting... testify... and enjoy the rest of the show.

Some suggest that Exhibit C will be addressed as early as 10am. Attendees may wish to play it safe and arrive as early as 9am.

The meeting will be held in Exhibit Hall D, Rooms 202-204. No charge to attend the meeting, but parking is $6 per vehicle. People attending the Sportsmen's Show must pay
a $9 entrance fee. Driving directions may be found at www.expocenter.org by clicking on directions.

Need a ride from the west side? I plan on attending and will leave Aloha at 8:30. Please email me or post here if you wish to tag along.

I might be convinced to take in the show for a bit, depending on when the nearshore issue is completed.

Bump .....

Hey guys, remember when we got most of the way there last fall? In principle anyway, ODFW is committed to capping the take of rockfish and restricting entry into commercial fishing for live rockfish. Now we have to hash out all the details that will actually get the job done. Come to the meeting, have your say and then go check out the sportsman show. A win/win situation. The folks at ODFW and the marine program especially need your support. They are doing the hard work here and all you have to do is show up and support the effort.

Like you needed a reason to skip work on an almost spring day.

Well the Chair gave the Marine program some lookups regarding the exact caps that were to be placed on the Live fish and bottom fish commercials and also on sport fishers.

They will be discussing these and taking input from the public.

Jen and I will be there. What about you?

How about a roll call.

Jen (Pilar's Mate)
John (Black Magic)
Janice (RFA Janice)
Greg (Fishplay?)

As long as I can make it back to burritoville by 3:00 p.m. at the latest I can make it and will. I can return after my mission to pick up my son from school and we could go to the Burrito House for dinner and cervesas.

Thanks again to everyone who showed up from ifish. I was there for a different reason, but was very impressed with the testimony I heard and the direction the ODFW commission is heading. Very encouraging. Thanks again for being involved. Good to talk to you John. Hope to see you out there.
